Kathryn Hart (she/they) is an early-career ecologist, farmer, community educator, and artist with interests in abolition, gender equity, interdisciplinary education, and land access. The great-granddaughter of sharecroppers who fled Alabama during the Great Migration, she was born and raised on Anishinaabe and Myaamia land in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She earned a BS in Environmental Science with minors in Food Studies and Spanish from Indiana University Bloomington and is a member of the National Conservation Scholars Network. Migration is a human right, and like the monarch butterflies and her ancestors, Kathryn has made a home away from home in the Bay Area, where she works to restore native ecosystems and support people living in diaspora on Turtle Island to remember and steward their ancestral food traditions.
