Mauricio “Mau” Rivera (he/him) Mau has been designing water systems for the past decade. His deep passion for regenerative systems has shaped his solution-oriented mindset, driving effective holistic land planning, water balance analysis, ecological stormwater management, rainwater capture, water reuse, and reciprocal water relations. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from San Francisco State University, he embarked on a 7-month Latin America bus tour, connecting with permaculture and indigenous communities to explore alternative living models. This journey, sparked by uncertainty about his career path, led him to work with a Mexican indigenous community – igniting his passion for water systems. Featured in award-winning books: Brad Lancaster's "Rainwater Harvesting for Drylands and Beyond, Vol. 2" and Erik Ohlsen's "The Regenerative Landscaper". He recently earned his land planning certification from the School of Regeneration, Green Curves - Latin America’s largest regenerative community.
